However, I forgot the amazing horn of plenty that arrives in the summer months. Every table was absolutely overflowing with goodness and I spent all the cash I had on hand and all the cash I ran to take out of the bank machine. It was amazing! I bought chicken, pork, peas from two different vendors, dill, perogies, gluten free chocolate cookies and raspberry wine. I was super excited by the new producers I saw and bought some peanut soup from the new Ghana booth to try on a day we don't feel like cooking. When I got home I told T we had to go to the downtown market so I could continue my massive consumption of all things farmer's market-related.
Downtown was just as great! We ended up with Sylvan Star Grizzly Gouda, O Sol Meatos chorizo (which I felt was destiny as I always sing in the house O SOLO MIO and I loved the riff on their name), waffles from Eva Sweet and on and on. We got home and assembled the most delicious charcuterie plate with some bread from WildEarth. We opened a bottle of bellini (my fav) and savoured the view and the food.
A most successful and delicious day.
